Luna Wolves WIP 4
I have been... well, I like to call it "painting" but "randomly putting thick coloured liquid on little space men" might be a better term... a bit this evening.
I have whacked some battle damage on a few bits and bobs...
And the below is the result.
I have 4 of these puppies for my army :)
The finished banner Sarge
A dude.
Some more dudes.
A dude, and the other banner Sarge.
C&C appreciated.

Luna Wolves WIP 3
A comparison of the 3 model "types" of painting so far.
Top: Sarge as above with another coat or 2 of white
Left: Completed Devestator with battle scratching
Right: Clean, yet to be battle damaged Tactical Marine
I need to re-yellow up the sarge for the dust/grime look, and then battle damage him to see how it all come up.
For the record, he was undercoated in White Gesso/Water 30-50/70-50 (ish)

Luna Wolves WIP 2
Been working on my next batch of marines
Haven't got the white as well covered as last time, which you can see in these pics, but one the weathering is complete it should be fine - I hope.
I did however have a win with the banner on this sarge.
I have to still black line the fist and probably do another white touch up around places.
Thoughts?

Luna Wolves WIP
This will be the start of a few posts in a row - me throwing up WIP posts of my Luna Wolves and the repaint they are going through.
A few of the models completed/WIP
The right 3 guys have NMM shoulder pad trims, Horus doesn't, the termie has a bit, an the banner sarge has NMM banner/bits but my standard from colour.
To compare models with and without NMM pads:

WIP Terminator
Just a quicky, a WIP Terminator repaint for your perusal :)
White Gesso basecoat, Charadon Granite base, highlights with Fortress Grey, heavy black wash.
Then the "gold" is beastial brown, snakebite leather and dwarf flesh (maybe, the label is covered in boltgun metal).

More Luna Wolves - AOBR dread.
So amongst the ruins of everything, I had been slowly putting paint on more models.
The primary colours on these are white (duh) and charadon granite for the dark contrast. It keeps everything a little warmer, which is nice.

More Luna Wolves
Of course, I have to finish the Captain as well :)
Before I get sidetracked, thanks to Warpaintguy for the stylish blogger vote, and I will get to that response in time :) I have to work out a few things before I do my big post.
Anyway, instead of doing that post, I was painting.

Quick word in your ear - Marine Repaint
http://thatguyjames.net |
Time for some more green, Simple Green that is, and a lot of marines in the bath.
As such I have also re-written my army a bit to fit these changes, and allow me to up the anti a little for the new army paint job.
First, list.
HQ
Librarian
Elites
10 Terminators, 2 Cyclone Missile Launchers
Dreadnought (Multimelta)

Troops
10 Tactical Marines, Meltagun, Missile Launcher, Rhino

Fast Attack
Landspeeder Typhoon (Typhoon Missile Launchers, Heavy Flamer)
Landspeeder Typhoon (Typhoon Missile Launchers, Heavy Flamer)
Heavy Support
Predator, Heavy Bolter Sponsons
Predator, Heavy Bolter Sponsons
41 infantry (30 scoring), 9 vehicles, 1750 points.
Now as for the scheme? Howling Griffons. Something easy to paint.
I have dug out a Terminator, my own AoBR captain (soon to be just a sargeant) and I will be getting a start on finding out just how hard these guys are to paint.
"WIP photos coming?" you might ask... I'd like to think so but who knows.

Da Horde Returnz
I feel terrible for not keeping the blog going, but once more life takes over.
I am going though the 6th month of my #2 bub's pregnancy (no, I'm the Dad not the Mum, but I still have to live with it), a new car we picked up on Friday, starting a new job in 3 weeks and a whole host of other stuff that really is neither here nor there, but all adds up to - I get 1 hr of painting every other night and I haven't seen the value in using it to write a blog post.
Anyway, without further ado, the reason I have been painting is so that I can re-complete the MVB list I am running for this year's Tourney Season.
0/10 Comp, here we come!

Hammering out my army for Cent
I haven't mentioned it here, but I am loaning my army to a guy for Cent and I had to make a few alterations and speed paint some things.
Brolo of 3++ fame is shipping me 3 kans that were supposed to be here yesterday.
Sigh.
Oh well, digging through a trade I found a new plastic Kan!
Winnah!
So to start on the last 3 models, I have whipped up this.

The Challenge: Completed.
Finally, it's done!
During the last few weeks, as you all know, I have put some paint on this little fella and made a right mess of this wagon. OK, I lie, I've done a damn good job of it (for my own personal quality, anyway).
I smashed through an Ork a night to get this finished, and I am very happy with the results.
The only issue is that now I REALLY need to redo the rest (4000ish points) of my Orks, to this quality.

fester's Orks: The Challenge
So to my shame, I turn to my battlewagon kit, and break the shrinkwrap. This is the first Xmas present to see the modelling table.
Now, why do I do this to "my shame"... the music playing in the background is The Final Countdown by Europe.
The shrinkwrap comes off, and I get that feeling of awe cracking this baby open. Now, why do I do this to "my shame"... the music playing in the background is The Final Countdown by Europe.
You see, in my gamin history, I have cracked maybe 6-7 actual boxsets for my 6-7,000 points of armies.
I have decided that I am not just going to throw this together, and that I am going to make the most of this kit.

Silence is golden
Well things have been quiet here as I do my 3++ content, but for once this is going to be updated before the same post gets pushed over there.
I have found some new focus with my Orks, and hope to put them together (and do some other toys too) by Centurion in March.
On to the filler content I mean hobby update!
This is my Trukk, which is a Gorkamorka Trukk sandwiched between 2 Leman Russ tracks from an old Looted Russ I had laying around.

For the Warmaster: Part 1, Bloodletters
The Bloodletters aka BA Scouts are done, apart from:
1. Eyes
2. Tongues
3. Cleanup
4. Varnish (I never varnish, but these babies have seen a few dings already and that scares me)
More pictures after the jump (god I feel like Goatboy!)
I am very happy with the banner effect, which was:
- Dehneb Stone
- Washed with my super-Sons of Horus mix (50% Thraka Green, 50% Asurman Blue)
Then free handed the logo in black!
